My husband and I feel compelled to say that we spent a wonderful evening May 13 chaperoning Hardin County 6th, 7th and 8th graders at a Dance Party at the Kenton YMCA hosted by Lodge 157 of the Elks. This was Julie Crowe’s final year as the host of the event and she left no stone unturned.

National Train Day Toledo will be held at the Amtrak Station in Toledo on Saturday, May 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is one of the nation’s largest events of its kind, offering a family-friendly atmosphere with free admission and free parking.

The Roundhead McDonald Park Board was a recent recipient of a sizable donation from the Roundhead VFW Post 8832 as part of their disbanding and charitable donations to area organizations. The park members will choose wisely in using those funds.

To the person or persons who destroyed the Easter eggs that were put out on the Moose lawn for Moose members’ children to have an Easter egg hunt on Sunday, April 2: It is hard to describe the faces of the children when they came back inside with nothing but broken eggs and no candy in their bags.

To the editor: It is with a heavy heart that I tender my resignation as Director of the Ada Public Library; a bittersweet departure, I will travel what Walt Whitman calls the “perpetual journey.”

The Ada Public Library will be undergoing an expansion and renovations in 2017. The current building, constructed in 1953, was expanded and renovated in the 1960s and 1990s, as the needs changed and the community outgrew the space.

An open letter to the residents and business owners in Hardin County. Nobody anywhere can beat your generosity! Once again, you’ve given your time, money, talents and goods to support Pawsitive Pals purse bingo. There’s way too many of you to list here; but know, each and every one of you were listed in our program or our posts that went out to the 195 people who purchased tickets.

The Hardin County Humane Society has assisted in the spay/neuter and other services of 4,225 animals through 2016.

This year, March 19-25, 2017, Ohio Northern University’s chapter of the Student Society of Health System Pharmacists is participating in National Poison Prevention Week, a week nationally designated to highlight the dangers of poisonings and how to prevent them.

The tragic event that began on Feb. 17 has produced unity within the community, sympathy for the passing of a young person, and support for the efforts of our young people which has spread throughout the Ridgemont and adjacent communities.
