I am writing to compliment our Kenton High School soccer coaching staff and team. My son just completed his first year on the KHS soccer team.

I grew up in Upper Sandusky and now live in Maumee. I and many of your readers are represented by the same U.S. Congressman, Bob Latta. His opponent in November is Michael Galbraith.

It is that time of the year again. United Way of Hardin County had its kick-off. We have pledged to raise $220,000. I am co-chairman this year with Matt Manns and Phyllis Griffith.

I am writing in support of the Ada Exempted Village Schools’ 2.9 mill permanent improvement levy that will face the Ada voters on November 6, 2018. As a renewal tax, this five-year levy is not a new tax nor a tax increase.

Former President Obama said recently that “the biggest threat to Democracy is indifference.” According to the web, Indifference is a noun meaning lack of interest, concern or sympathy. When I wake up in the morning and listen to the news, I find myself shaking my head with a visceral (deep-felt response) when attempting to make sense of our current world.

To the editor: Why I ran against Bob Latta in the Republican primary:

On November 6, 2018 Ohio voters will be faced with a constitutional amendment otherwise known as State Issue 1, entitled “The Neighborhood Safety, Drug Treatment, and Rehabilitation Amendment.” Hardin County voters should not be fooled that this will aid in community safety, drug treatment or rehabilitation efforts.

I attended the Hardin County Fair Board Banquet Sunday, September 16, 2018 to watch Scioto Sound perform (Upper Scioto Valley Schools Show Choir). They did an excellent job and I was proud to watch them. During this banquet there were a couple of Junior Fair Board members recognized for their hard work.
