The Ada-Liberty Township Fire Department protects the incorporated area of Ada, 36 square miles of Liberty Township and 10 square miles in Orange Township, Hancock County. In 1990, the fire department took delivery of the first fire truck of its kind in the area.

On Nov. 6, voters will be asked to decide many issues. Among them will be issues in Buck Township, Goshen Township, Pleasant Township and the City of Kenton on behalf of Grove Cemetery.

I urge you to support the renewal of the Issue 6 Extension levy. My family has 122 years as 4-H advisors in Hardin County. Bob has 55 years, Bonnie had 33 years, Jerry had 22 years and Jack had 12 years. We believe in what 4-H does for young people.

On November 6, I ask for your support on Issue 6, OSU Extension Levy. This renewal levy generates financial support for programs in our county such as 4-H, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family Consumer Science, and SNAP Education.

I grew up in Pittsburgh. On Saturday, a gunman entered my family's synagogue there. He was angry at Jews and immigrants, and he killed 11 people.

I have never been into politics much, however I do like to keep up on current issues and I feel that I have a strong but open-minded opinion on such issues. With voting season coming up very soon I felt the need to reach out to potential voters with some information and an anecdote.

I understand that we all mourn and suffer when an officer (or any first responder) loses his/her life in the line of duty. It should be recognized and memorials created when appropriate. However, I being a veteran believe it to be disrespectful to all those who have served and currently serve.

I am disappointed to read that the candidates for Hardin County commissioner do not see the value of passenger train service to our county and region, let alone to most Ohioans. On the one hand there are many positive reasons to promote such service which can improve our overall quality of life. On the other hand, as a recent ODOT survey revealed, most rural areas of Ohio are badly served by affordable public transportation.

The Hardin County Safety Council is one of more than 80 across the state that partner with the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation to promote the importance of workplace safety. We at BWC work closely with the council and member employers in Hardin County and we are always impressed.
