Support Ada Public Library levy The Ada Public Library is the greatest! I stop by at least once a week to update my movie selection and reading material. Through the library's website adalibrary.org, I can easily order movies and books from over 100 other libraries, allowing me to get items that the Ada library doesn't own. Along with popular titles, it’s surprising how many old and obscure films are available! Read More
F-J Library is heart of community I went to the library today. It was Monday. I met with a small group that was planning a meeting. When we finished our planning, I joined the Forest High School alumni group who were having coffee in the kitchen. This week we went to 8 different restaurants, and I could not enter any of them. My wheelchair will not go through the doors. It is very disappointing to not be … Read More
Say yes to local business As a citizen of the city of Kenton, my initial response to the proposed Buck Township zoning change request was “I don’t have a dog in this fight”. But in retrospect, I think that attitude is short sighted. I have done some homework on the issue and it occurs to me that development in Buck Township impacts all of Hardin County. The prevalent attitude is that we want jobs, growth and for Hardin County to prosper, for schools, services and roads to improve. I think we all want that, unless we perceive it will cost us personally. Read More
Don’t want project in Buck After attending both meetings in their entirety, I have definite feelings towards the Buck Township toxic chemical installation that is proposed to go in on State Route 31. Numerous people have commented on what a good thing that will be for Hardin County, that the new business will benefit the county. But I ask, at what cost to the residents of Buck Township? Read More
