Dola man sent to prison

A Dola man was sent to prison for 11 months on a single drug charge in a case heard in Hardin County Common Pleas Court. According to court records from Prosecutor Brad Bailey’s office, Kim Duane Gibson, 2411 Anthony St., Dola, entered a guilty plea to one count of possession of heroin and received the 11-month prison sentence.

Area farmers make progress planting corn

Spring planting season started in earnest this past week in Hardin County. Farmers were in the fields doing tillage work, spreading fertilizer and manure, spraying for weeds and termination of cover crops, as well as planting corn. Warm dry temperatures aided in this progress, with the exception of some fields that were not quite fit to begin field work.
