The Kenton Board of Education is continuing to look into building a new bus garage. Board member and finance chairman Tom Brim reported at Monday’s school board meeting that the board has been receiving “rough numbers” on the cost to construct a bus garage next to the elementary building.

ALGER — The Alger Community Fire Association will be making smoke detectors available to houses within the village, the Alger council learned Monday evening.

ADA — The Ada Police Department held an awards supper Thursday for the department and honored the following officers for their work during the past year.

An officer was called to 639 E. Franklin St. in reference to someone throwing eggs at the residence.

FOREST — Through her photography business, Cheap $hots, Kim Camper’s goal is to make sure everyone has memories that will last a lifetime. Camper has had a passion for photography since her days in high school, taking pictures of mostly sporting events. At that point she never imagined she’d turn it into a career.

The budget proposed by Gov. John Kasich has State Rep. Robert Sprague concerned for rural school districts. In a visit to the Times on Friday, the Republican from Findlay said he was left “scratching my head” after studying the school funding formula in the proposed budget.
