Riverdale to offer students more semester-long classes

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Beginning next year at Riverdale High School, students will be able to choose certain semester-long classes. High School Guidance Counselor Michelle Cundiff highlighted some of the new classes being offered to students for the 2015-2016 school year, including drama, film and documentaries, mythology, author studies, a new weightlifting class and web page design.

Kenton JROTC at meet

The Kenton JROTC drill team traveled to Cleveland on Saturday to compete against five other schools in the Lincoln-West Army JROTC Drill Meet. The team placed third in Armed Platoon drill, third in Varsity Color Guard, second in Unarmed Platoon drill, and first in Academic competition.

Horse royalty

Sydney Geberin (left) was crowned Hardin County Horse Princess and Layne Taylor was selected as the county’s 2015 Horse Queen at the first Hardin County Horse Banquet Saturday evening in the Community Building at the fairgrounds.
