Blood pressure check

DUNKIRK — The Kenton-Hardin Health Department will offer free blood pressure screens on Friday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the Hardin Northern Public Library. The library is located at 153 N. Main St., Dunkirk.

A crew this morning began demolition of the Kenton Taco Bell. Owner George Kentris has announced the old site will be replaced with a building more traditional to the chain. The restaurant is expected to reopen for the Memorial Day weekend. Prior to the building being used as a Taco Bell for about 20 years, it was a Traditions Restaurant. …

Amish merchant complies with health regulations

An Amish merchant is back to following proper safety practices in the handling of meats and cheese. Director of Environmental Services Shane Lotts told the Kenton-Hardin Board of Health at its meeting Tuesday night that during two recent visits to Mary’s Amish Market, there was no evidence of owner Mary Slabaugh cutting slices off bulk pieces of cheese and meats with a knife.
