The information is obtained from a 2014 Hardin County Genealogy Society publication of newspaper articles, compiled by Doris Blum, that were first published by the Kenton Times in 1955, by Tom Cooper.

MONDAY, NOV. 14 Kenton City Council – 7 p.m., chambers

ADA — The Ohio Northern University Music Department will present an instrumental ensembles concert at 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14 in the Presser Hall Snyder Recital Hall. The concert will feature the flute choir and flute quartet under the direction of faculty member Erin Torres, percussion ensemble and steel drum band under the direction of faculty member Renee Keller, string ensemble under the direction of faculty member Florin Simioanca and a presentation of Aaron Copland's chamber work, “As it Fell Upon a Day,” featuring Jordan Loyd, senior music performance major.

ADA — Col. David D. Kretz returned home Friday to be the keynote speaker for Veterans Day at the Ohio Northern University. A native of Ada, Kretz said he grew up in the community and his children attended classes at Ohio Northern.

A few weeks ago, there was a very good article in your paper about the ReStore Community Center in Ada, written by Dan Robinson.

In mid-October of 1962, the world held its breath. Russian ships were making their way across the Atlantic Ocean with nuclear warheads toward Cuba. President John F. Kennedy tried to block the shipment and warned the Russian government against proceeding with its plans to build a base on the island nation.

A group of students are Kenton Elementary School are learning lessons in technology while also learning the importance of caring for others around the world and in their own community.

Members of the 2016 Hardin Leadership program received their graduation certificates during a program Thursday night at Henry’s Restaurant in Kenton.

Twelve area high school students were recognized as Teenagers of the Month for November by the Kenton Elks Lodge during a luncheon at lodge Thursday in Kenton.

The 30th annual Christmas Around the Square Craft Fair will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Hardin County Courthouse in downtown Kenton. Sponsored by the Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance, the event will feature three floors filled with arts, crafts, and home party dealers.
