ADA — Ohio Northern University faculty member Katherine Krynak’s zeal for animals has led her to a prestigious Fulbright Scholarship opportunity in South America. Krynak, assistant professor of biology, has been selected to study in Ecuador for three months beginning March 2017.

The 2017 Conservation Tillage Club breakfast program series will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 10 at the Plaza Inn Restaurant in Mount Victory. Each session will start at 7:30 a.m. with complimentary buffet breakfast followed by the program at 8 a.m. Other sessions will be held on Jan. 24, Feb. 7 and 21.

During a traffic stop in the 600 block of N. Detroit Street, a police canine was used to conduct a sniff search of the vehicle.

ADA — In deciding who its new superintendent would be, the Ada Board of Education only brought back one individual for a second interview. On Wednesday night at a special board meeting, Meri Skilliter was selected to lead the Ada School District, taking over for the retiring Dr. Suzanne Darmer, who had served the district for 10 years.
