The quick response of Kenton crews to the freezing rain event on Dec. 17 was recognized at Tuesday’s City Council meeting. Safety Service Director Jim Hites said the city’s on-call man was out before 7 a.m. that day salting the main streets.

ARLINGTON — An opening has been posted for a part-time rural carrier for the United States Postal Service in Arlington five different times. The office is still trying to fill the opening.

A total of $3,304 was collected during the annual Goshen Community Fund Drive. The members of Goshen Community Grange 578 would like to extend their gratitude to the residents of Goshen Township for their support.

ADA — Dr. Suzanne Darmer feels like her last 10 years in Ada have been spent “in the best school district in Ohio.” In what was the only superintendency of her career, Darmer is hanging things up at the end of the calendar year, retiring from the Ada School District to be able to spend more time with family.

A report was received of a suspicious vehicle parked in the alley behind Domino’s. Two occupants were found inside the vehicle.

FINDLAY — An Ada youth was one of two people injured in a two-vehicle accident in Hancock County on Monday afternoon.

I read in the Dec. 13th issue of the Times that council is considering making the intersection of N. Detroit St. and North St. a four-way stop. The purported reason for this is school bus safety to the elementary school as buses use North St. to cross Detroit. Mayor Manns stated he hopes to make a quality decision.
