Celebrate Independence Day at the Hancock County Fairgrounds in Findlay on Monday, July 3 at the Gospel Music Stage, located behind the Horse Barn, starting at 5 p.m. Sharing their ministries will be One Voice, Purpose Driven, Singing Crowes and 441 Quartet.
KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Karl Wedemeyer, a dairy farmer from LaRue, recently visited Washington, D.C., to meet with congressional leaders and discuss issues impacting the dairy industry. Wedemeyer attended the 2017 National Milk Producers Federation’s Dairy Policy and Legislative Forum as a representative of Dairy Farmers of America’s (DFA) Young Cooperator (YC) program.
BELLE CENTER — Paradune Brewing Co. is looking to set itself apart with an old-fashioned “farm to table” approach. The new local brewery is owned by four partners, Jeff Parker, TJ Merrill, Bijan Fayaz and Dominc Lombardo.
Under its current agreement with the Multi-County Correctional Center in Marion, Hardin County usually has a several of its allotted jail spaces unfilled as inmates are processed in an out of the facility. However an increasing number of women inmates from both counties have left that section of the jail filled a majority of the time, leaving local law enforcement officials increasingly finding themselves scrambling to find somewhere else to house female inmates - at a higher cost to Hardin County.
A Kenton woman wants to give Hardin County residents recovering from drug addiction an interim place to stay. Danielle Miller would like to covert the former McKitrick Hospital on North Detroit Street in Kenton into a transition house for addicts.
MOUNT VICTORY — The Ridgemont Board of Education is looking for a new superintendent. Superintendent Emmy Beeson announced, at the conclusion of Thursday’s board meeting, that she is resigning as the district’s leader to take the same job at the Tolles Career and Technical Center in Plain City.
MOUNT VICTORY — Beginning this fall, students in the Ridgemont School District will be subject to a drug testing policy if they want to take part on any athletic teams or in extracurricular activities. During its June meeting on Thursday, the school board approved mandatory alcohol and drug testing for all students in grades 7-12 involved in extracurricular activities, said Superintendent Emmy Beeson.
MOUNT VICTORY — The Ridgemont Board of Education, at its meeting Thursday, saluted the success of two track athletes. The board also recognized Meadow Cromer and Sidney Richardson for their participation in the Division III Ohio track and Field meet.
