The economic health of the county is good and on the threshold of setting records, according to Jon Cross, President and CEO of the Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance. Cross was one of the presenters at the Alliance’s Economic and Community Development Breakfast on Friday morning at Henry’s Restaurant in Kenton. Community and business leaders filled the banquet room to hear an update on local development and the programs being offered to businesses.

DOLA — The Rev. Steve Ramsey will be installed as pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, Dola, in a special service of worship to take place the afternoon of Sunday, Feb. 19. The worship service will begin at 4 p.m., with a reception to follow.

FOREST — The Forest United Methodist Church, 111 E. Dixon St., will be honoring Carolyn Huston, the church’s organist of 28 years, following the 10:30 a.m. church service on Sunday, Jan. 22. The public is invited to help honor her.

MAYSVILLE — The Auglaize Free United Baptist Church will be hosting Bryan and Yvonne Hutson, vocalists, songwriters and speakers, at 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 22. The church is located 15 miles west of Kenton at 11890 Harding Highway (Ohio 309), Maysville.

The First United Methodist Church women would like to thank the public for supporting their annual cookie walk this past December. The money raised was given to five charities: Helping Hands (Deanna Wages), Kids Club and Youth (FUMC), Heartbeat of Hardin County, Soup Kitchen and Helping Hands (FUMC).

Farmers will have the opportunity to learn about cover crops in a one day workshop at the Plaza Inn Restaurant in Mount Victory on Friday, Feb. 10. This program will be held in the banquet room of the Plaza Inn, 491 S Main Street.

COLUMBUS — The leadership and advocacy development program AgriPOWER is now accepting applications for participation. The Ohio Farm Bureau Federation’s AgriPOWER Class IX will include 20 individuals who are committed to improving their understanding of important issues and are willing to develop skills to become effective advocates for the farm and food community.
