DOLA — As Jerry McBride was considering the advantages of solar energy for his grain farm near Dola, he was skeptical. The financial advantages over conventional electric power seemed too good to be true.

LIMA — Ross Clum and Donald P. Klingler will be inducted into the Allen County Agricultural Hall of Fame on July 14 during an evening banquet at the Old Barn Out Back in Lima.

Because of the continued rains in the area, wheat harvest will likely be late again this year. Throughout the state, the crop is now ready for harvest in some fields, but will likely not be cut until the first or second week of July or even later, depending on weather and field conditions.
