Bluffton U. to present ‘Guys and Dolls’

BLUFFTON —Bluffton University will present “Guys and Dolls,” for the May Day musical on May 3-4 at 7:30 p.m. in Founders Hall. “Guys and Dolls” depicts gambler Nathan Detroit, who is seeking cash to set up the biggest craps game in town, but both the authorities and his fiancé of 14 years are breathing down his neck. When Detroit makes a bet with a fellow gambler’s love life, this oddball romantic comedy takes us from Times Square to Cuba to the sewers of New York City.

ONU Wind Orchestra featured

ADA – The Ohio Northern University Wind Orchestra, with Antoine T. Clark as conductor, will present a concert, “Give Us This Day,” at 7:30 p.m. on April 26 in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts. The program will explore concepts of origin, joy, celebration and awareness through the music of Andreas Makris, Alexander Arutiunian, John Barnes Chance, J. S. Bach and David Maslanka.

Spring Fling concert at BU

BLUFFTON — Bluffton University’s Camerata Singers, University Chorale, Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble will perform a selection of lighter tunes during the Spring Fling concert at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 28 in Yoder Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Annual barbershop style show slated in Fostoria

FOSTORIA — The Fostoria Lake Plains Chorus will present its annual barbershop show Saturday, April 27 at 4 p.m., at the Fostoria High School Performing Arts Center, 1001 Park Ave., Fostoria, Ohio. This year’s show, titled “Happy Together,” features songs in the barbershop style that celebrate falling in love and the ups and downs that go with it. It will also feature the Fostoria chapter quartets Paragon and the Mixatones, as well as the 2016 international champion quartet Forefront.
