Without primary, Ada district will have to pay for levy renewal vote

There was good news from the Hardin County Board of Elections this week for candidates, but the news was not so positive for at least one local school district. The candidates for partisan races in Kenton and Ada who filed by Wednesday’s deadline are unopposed in the planned May 2 primary election, said Director Sandra Bookmyer. But because there are no contested races, there will be no primary.

Petitions accepted for Ada, Kenton races

Petitions for partisan elections in Kenton and Ada must be submitted to the Hardin County Board of Elections by 4 p.m. on Feb. 1. Races in the spring primary will include president of council, four ward council seats, three council-at-large posts and the city treasurer in Kenton. Crowe wins by 2 votes

In the end, the Hardin County Commissioner’s race was decided by just two votes. The board of elections met today starting at 2 p.m. and at 4:45 p.m. announced the results of the tally.
