Cross has big lead in campaign fundraising for Ohio House race There is a big difference in the amount of contributions in the race for the 83rd District seat in the Ohio House. Kenton resident Jon Cross has collected $78,000 while his opponent, Cheryl Buckland of Findlay, reports taking in $9,095. according to the 2017 semiannual campaign finance report filed Monday with the Ohio Secretary of State’s office. Shortage of area candidates for fall ballot One week before the filing deadline, there is a shortage of candidates seeking village council, township trustee and school board positions open in the Nov. 7 election. According to records at the Hardin County Board of Elections, five people have returned petitions to run for a council seat and only one candidate has filed in the entire county to run for a seat on any of the boards of education.
