LAFAYETTE — An Election Day lunch will be hosted at the Lafayette First United Methodist Church from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6. The church is located at 204 W. Main St., Lafayette. On the menu is chili soup, vegetable soup, shredded chicken, hot dogs, salad bar, dessert and drinks.

CAREY — Area singers are invited to join the Carey Ecumenical Christmas Choir as preparations begin for this year’s concert to be held on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 4:30 p.m. The concert will be held at the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, 315 Clay Street in Carey.

Singer Jeremy Liles will be featured Saturday, Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. at Auglaize Free United Baptist Church. The church is located off Ohio 309 at Maysville.

You may recognize this child’s lullaby from the popular CBS-TV comedy “The Big Bang Theory.” It’s one of my favorite shows. While I don’t agree with all the values it models, I love its honest and hilarious approach to human relationships. People can be very strange!

Get Naked—that was almost the sermon title for this coming Sunday’s sermon, but I thought twice about it. In today’s culture, that could be misconstrued and some snowflake could rapidly melt before realizing what it was actually about.
