Victory Gospel concert to host two quartet performances

MOUNT VICTORY — There will be a Victory Gospel concert from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 16 at 234 N. Washington St., Mount Victory (at the park). Doors open at 4 p.m.
DUNKIRK — The local community choir will present "Behold the Lamb" - A Cantata of Seasonal Holy Week Music at the Hardin Northern Community Center on Sunday, April 14 starting at 7 p.m. The choir is comprised of individuals in the community and is directed by Julie Freshcorn and accompanied by Leah Driskill.
The Auglaize Free United Baptist Church will be hosting an all-you-can-eat, country-style breakfast and bake sale from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 13. On the menu will be sausage gravy, bacon, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, fried apples, grits, pancakes, biscuits, coffee, milk and orange juice.
The Carey Ecumenical Choir – Adoramus, will present its 9th annual Music Reflection at noon on Good Friday, April 19, in the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation, 315 Clay Street in Carey.

McGUFFEY — TLC Ministries has been hosting Gathering Services in the Village of McGuffey in the Community Room of the postal/village building on Tuesday evenings for the past two weeks with great results, according to Evangelist Tony Crowe. People are being fed and lives are being changed, he said.
A few years ago, I suffered greatly on the cross. Quite literally. It was Palm Sunday. We decided to engage in the practice of stripping the altar. We take all the items off the altar and leave it bare, then rebuild it on Easter morning. It is a wonderful visual for Holy Week.
The key to all healing lies with God. Therefore it is crucial that we recognize the giver of all good gifts. In a famous story where Jesus healed three men suffering from leprosy, only one of those men returned to Jesus to thank him (Luke 17:11-19).
The gospel group Redeeming Love will be performing at the Auglaize Free United Baptist Church, 11890 Ohio 309, Maysville, at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 23 and 11 a.m. Sunday, March 24. Everyone is welcome to attend.
We were discussing the 10 Commandments in Bible Study and we discussed how we, as a society, have come to accept things that previously were not accepted based upon our faith. But, once you begin to really look at the 10 Commandments through spiritual eyes, not through earthly eyes, you will realize that you may have broken all or most of them. In an effort to live right and lead others to Christ, we sometimes fail to acknowledge our own sins and shortcomings.
