The Kenton Elks honored the February Teenagers of the Month during a luncheon Thursday, Feb. 12. The students from five area schools were selected for their character, leadership, service, citizenship and scholarship. There were no students nominated from Hardin Northern.
The Alger Fire Department was assisted by firefighters from McGuffey and Harrod in battling a blaze this morning at the home of Shawn Sanders, 308 McConnell Street.
A three-ton piece of history was purchased recently by a Hardin County native. The safe in the Erie Street Market in Toledo had made its home at the market for a century, but when the City of Toledo purchased the property, the safe and building were sold to the highest bidder. The purchaser was Charles Prater.
RIDGEWAY — June Titus was a junior at Ridgeway High School when she was handed a note from a senior boy. Dewey Ford was asking her to go with him to the Logan County Fair. She sent a message back saying she would like to go. Those handwritten notes began a relationship that was to make the couple inseparable for the next seven decades.
