A Kenton man spent two weeks on his hands and knees in an Israeli cave this summer searching for human remains and tools at an archaeological site estimated to be at least 50,000 years old. John Dulin was part of a group of students and professors from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland to travel to the Manot Cave in western Galilee.

The crew at Helping Hands Outreach feels as if they have “too many irons in the fire” at this time of the year. The volunteers are preparing for Saturday’s Kids Day at Kenton’s Wharton Park, they are also taking applications for school supply assistance, planning a community spaghetti dinner, a Thanksgiving meal and the annual Christmas support program.

Workers from the DMK Development Group place the expansion joints for a roof for one of the buildings at the new Ada retirement center on the town’s northern limits. According to Project Superintendent Benji Curtis, when the facility is completed, it will feature 42 units in the skilled care portion and 37 assisted living units.
