ADA — The theatrical performances of Hardin County area students were recognized Tuesday night at the Take-A-Bow Awards Ceremony at Ada High School. The seventh annual event was sponsored by the Hardin County Players, a community theater group.

A large section of the former Ridgemont High School building in Ridgeway was demolished on Monday. A portion of the building, including the commons area and gymnasium will be spared from the razing and used by the district.

Kenton High School senior Beth Oldham talks with Aaron Johnson as she prepares to go to work at the Iron Fit Gym in Kenton. Oldham is part of the Wildcat Kommunity Konnectors organization which matches KHS students with local mentors to give them an advantage as they pursue a career.

While there were six new inductees into the Hardin County Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday night and they said they could not have had the success they did in athletics if it had not been for those who supported them. Inducted were Helen Spar Ludwig, LeAnna Hicks-Ford, Gary Lowe, Steve Kick, Mark Ehlen and Gale Daugherty.

MOUNT VICTORY — As Ridgemont’s K-12 principal of student life and athletic director, Jill Stover is able to help students both on an academic and athletic level. Stover is in her second year as principal – the first at the K-12 level – and her fourth year as athletic director.

As a boy growing up in Dunkirk, Tim Clark remembers getting excited at the wailing of the fire siren. He watched as the firemen rode the tailboard on the back of the fire truck to the blaze.

A Kenton landmark has new owners. But except for some physical improvements and a change in name, Skinny’s will remain unchanged.

Lester Johns (right) was named the 2016 Hardin County Senior Citizen of the Year on Friday. The 95-year-old World War II veteran lives in rural Kenton.

For National Law Week, Hardin County Juvenile Court Judge Steve Christopher visited Kenton High School American Government seniors to educate them on opiate abuse and the recovery court program.
