The Kenton High School class of 1961 held its 55th year reunion on Friday, Sept. 16 and Saturday, Sept. 17. Friday evening, with 44 present, including classmates, spouses and friends, met for a get-together at Henry’s Restaurant in Kenton. A fun time was had by all with eating reminiscing and a lot of laughter.
The Kenton Lions club met Wednesday, Sept. 21 at Henry’s Restaurant at 6:30 p.m. Eleven members and four guests – District OH1 2nd VDG/Zone Chair Dean Carruthers, Lion Portia Carruthers, Cliff Biddinger and Aaron Osborn – were in attendance.
Ada Monday – breaded chicken sandwich, steamed carrots, fruit.
The Willshire Sportsman’s Club will be holding a Turkey Shoot on Sunday, Oct. 9 starting at noon. It will be held on the club grounds located two miles east of Willshire on Ohio 81.

Several Kenton Elementary School students received the monthly character award for displaying virtues such as leadership, integrity, caring, respect, responsibility, determination, willpower, trustworthiness, fairness, empathy, citizenship and compassion. September’s virtue is integrity.
