Chapter 32 of the Blue Star Mothers visited the Kenton Nursing and Rehab Center on Feb. 17 to recognize veterans. They presented each with a gift bag and expressed appreciation to the residents for their service.
Feb. 24 was tortilla day at the Kenton Nursing and Rehab Center. The special events committee at KNRC bought a variety of flavors of tortillas, and committee members brought in their favorite dips for staff appreciation day on Monday, Feb. 23. Kenton Elementary School held its first 5th and 6th Grade Valentine's Day Dance on Friday, Feb. 13. There were more than 200 students in attendance.
The Kenton JROTC drill team traveled to Cleveland on Saturday to compete against five other schools in the Lincoln-West Army JROTC Drill Meet. The team placed third in Armed Platoon drill, third in Varsity Color Guard, second in Unarmed Platoon drill, and first in Academic competition.
