ADA — Lent, the six-week prelude to Easter, is traditionally a time for sacrifices but can also be a season for making gains, says the Rev. David MacDonald, chaplain at Ohio Northern University. “Many individuals focus on the aspect of self-denial by giving up something such as a favorite food item,” MacDonald said. “While there is nothing wrong with that practice, Lent can be a season of longer-lasting, more practical impact.”

Local ministers turn to prayer in drug battle

There have never been more treatment options available locally for those facing opiate addictions, yet the issue persists and, according to at least one local minister, continues to grow. The Rev. Mark Bishop is one of a group of Hardin County church leaders who is turning to a higher power for assistance in facing the drug problems in the county and seeking guidance on coming together as a community to find answers.
