ALGER — The Alger First United Methodist Church is sponsoring an ice cream social Saturday, July 21 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Neighbor to Neighbor Outreach Center, 305 N. Main Street, Alger.
Our national church body has a youth gathering every three years. In 1991 the gathering was held over the July 4 holiday in Dallas. Texas. It was the only youth gathering I’ve attended and it was hot, really hot. There were 38,000 teens and chaperones in attendance for the five days.
The Proclaim Ministry Team from Pensacola Christian College will present its program at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 11 at First Baptist Church, CR 175, Kenton. Proclaim features stirring music and/or dramatic selections and a DVD presentation about the college.

President Trump has returned stateside after his historic meeting with his North Korean counterpart, Kim Jong Un. While the twitterverse, the interweb, and all things passing for media debate who has the better/worse haircut, I will join the many who hold their breath and hope that peace finally comes to the Korean peninsula and one less nuclear power will be left on the planet.
The Rhinehart United Methodist Church will hold its annual Tractor Sunday this Sunday, June 17, Father's Day. The tractor parade will meet at the home of Dick and Janie Seiler, 212 Williams Street, Mount Victory at 8 a.m. and leave at 8:15 a.m. to go the the church at the corner of Country Road 209 and Township Road 195 for the 9 a.m. worship service.
