For the first time in several decades, Hardin County Veterans Services will not have a booth at the county fair. Officially, the reason for not sponsoring the booth is financial, but veterans from area organizations see the decision as a slight to them and an example of decreasing services.

The Hardin County Agricultural Society approved a contractor to build a new show building which members hope will be available for this year’s fair. Members met Saturday at the Hardin County Fairgrounds with fifteen directors and 14 guests present.
Concerns regarding draft horses were raised at Saturday’s meeting of the Hardin County Agricultural Society. Earnie Kearns said he doesn't like the idea of the draft horses being housed in the Goshen Barn, rather than a tent.
Ticket sales are looking good for the Chase Bryant concert at the Hardin County Fair. Rob Wilson, from the entertainment committee, reported at Saturday’s meeting of the Hardin County Agricultural Society that there are only 60 reserved seats left, although track and general admission tickets are still available.

Rising young country music singer Chase Bryant will be the Saturday night grandstand entertainment at this year’s Hardin County Fair. Bryant, 23, from Orange Grove, Texas, has had two top 10 singles.
