The Hardin County Junior Fair Livestock Sale generated nearly $400,000 for the young sellers on Saturday. Market premium and add-ons totaled $398,031, according to results provided by the livestock sale committee.

Avery and Jacob Ayers rustled up a stray to participate in the round up at the sheep lead show at the 2018 Hardin County Fair, but the lamb thought Avery's hat looked like a good candidate for dinner.

Caitlyn Stover of the Ada FFA was selected as this year's showman of showmen at the Hardin County Fair. Stover was the top sales person in the senior division of the poultry show and was named the best showman in handling all the species at the fair contest.

A soggy weekend had a big impact on Hardin County Fair attendance as it wrapped up its six-day run on Sunday. The fair board canceled most of its major weekend events due to the continuous rain which began Friday afternoon.

Guests were given a close look at the Leopard Tortoise from the Columbus Zoo at a program Friday afternoon at the Hardin County Fair. The zoo crew brought a penguin, leopard and other animals from their zoo collection. The display was popular with guests who filled the bleachers of the small show arena.

Danyka Iiams, 4, is all smiles as she leads her diary calf through the show arena as part of the children’s dairy showmanship on Friday. The arena was crowded with participants in the competition. Danyka is the daughter of Jordan and Amanda Iiams of Bellefontaine.
