The Hardin County Fair gets underway next week. While the fair officially runs from Tuesday through Sunday, activities get underway Monday evening with the junior fair swine showmanship competition in the show arena.
Gospel music will be presented in the shelter house at the Hardin County Fair on Thursday and Friday afternoons through Victory Gospel. The Thursday program will have Chris Horne at 2 p.m., Gary and Sara Brill at 3 p.m., The Seekers at 4 p.m., One Voice at 5 p.m., and God’s Children at 6 p.m.
The Hardin County Humane Society is once again planning a pet photo contest and coloring contest at its booth at the Hardin County Fair. For the photo contest the entry fee is $10 per photo with no limit on the number of entries. Entry deadline is Aug. 31.
The Hardin County Agricultural Society met Wednesday, Aug. 7 for its monthly meeting. All 21 directors were present along with 16 guests. Corey Ledley, president, called the meeting to order. Mark Badertscher, OSU Hardin County Extension Agent, reminded everyone about the carcass show after the fair that will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. at Jenkin’s Meats in Mt. Victory.
Open class entries for the 2019 Hardin County can be entered Aug. 1-16 by going to the fair’s website, www.hardincountyfair.org, it was announced Wednesday at the July meeting of the Hardin County Agricultural Society. Fifteen directors and eleven guests were present at the meeting, called to order by President Corey Ledley.
Members of the Hardin County Agricultural Society received an update on what is happening on the fairgrounds at their meeting Wednesday, June 5. Brad Murphy, board vice president, called the meeting to order. Seventeen directors and 10 guests were present.
County music singer Tyler Rich will be the headline entertainer at this year’s Hardin County Fair. He will be featured in the country concert in the fair grandstand on Saturday night, Sept. 7, it was announced Friday by the Hardin County Agricultural Society.
The Hardin County Fair is now accepting junior fair entries for the 2019 Hardin County Fair.
Kenton High School representative applications for the Hardin County Fair king and queen are now available to next year’s seniors in Emily Burns’ room. Students who are enrolled in art, FCCLA, FFA, 4-H, Farm Bureau youth, Grange or Scouts are eligible to apply.
