Premiums soar, records fall at Junior Fair Livestock Sale Five record prices were set along with a big increase in premiums paid to the young sellers at Saturday's Hardin County Junior Fair Livestock Sale. New sales records were set for the purchase of the champion gilt, champion and reserve champion dairy steer and champion and reserve champion beef feeder, according to information compiled by livestock sale chairman Don Spar, who will be retiring after 30 years on the fair board. Strong turnout reported for Hardin County Fair Thanks in part to nice weather, the Hardin County Fair posted its best attendance since 2015, according to Judi Cronley, secretary/treasurer. The estimated attendance was 57,079 for the six-day run of the fair, with a paid gate of 10,193. That compares to estimated attendance of 30,165 and a paid gate of 8,168 during last year’s rain-marred fair. Read More
