Sheriff at Rotary

Hardin County Sheriff Keith A. Everhart  spoke to Kenton Rotary about the upcoming sheriff’s levy on the May 6 ballot.  The original operation levy first appeared on the ballot in 2010.  This levy supplies 22%-23% of the operating dollars for the office.  This levy will cost taxpayers $25 for every $100,000 in property value.  It will not cost more to support this levy then the current levy as it is a renewal based on older valuations. Everhart said he has always tried to be frugal while maintaining high standards in training for his officers and staff. He said his books are open for review at any time and hopes the people of Hardin County have gotten value for their dollars in the past.  With the voters help, the office will be able to continue to operate at this high standard, the sheriff said.
