Riverdale girls win district track title

ADA — Riverdale added a district championship to its collection of trophies as the Falcons came out on top in the Division III track and field meet that concluded Saturday at Ada War Memorial Stadium.

The Riverdale girls scored 146.5 points and finished well ahead of runner-up Columbus Grove with 123 points. Carey tied for fifth with 52 points.

Allison Woodruff led the Riverdale girls with a pair of individual district championships, taking the 1600 run in 5:13.43 and the 3200 run in 12:33.52.

She also is advancing to regionals in a pair of relays. Kendel Rall, Eden Barnes, Woodruff and Mariah Bonham were runners-up in the 1600 relay in 4:07.18 on Saturday after the 3200 relay team won Thursday. Bonham, Barnes, Chloe Powell and Woodruff finished in 9:50.00.

Kendel Rall was the winner of the 300 hurdles, finishing in 47.67 seconds, and took second in the 100 hurdles in 16.44. Powell was the 800 run champion in 2:27.13, and Bonham was first in the 400 dash in 59.20. Shae Berger was district champion in the high jump, clearing 4-10.

Ella Roach is advancing in both the 100 and 200 dashes. She was second in the 100 in 12.80 and third in the 200 in 26.69. Annalese Woodruff qualified for regionals in the 1600 run in third place in 5:38.78 and for the 800 run in fourth place in 2:32.75. Olivia Combs gave the Falcons two high jump qualifiers, having finished third at 4-10, and Katie Boucher was fourth in the shot put at 33-4.5.

Roach, Barnes, Rall and Bonham were second in the 800 relay in 1:47.67, while Kennedy Phelps, Lily Hilvers, Combs and Roach were fourth in the 400 relay in 52.68.

Annalese Woodruff placed sixth in the 3200 run in 13:43.46, coming up two spots shy of advancing. Kinsey Shull was fifth in the shot put at 32-10 after she was sixth in the discus with a 96-9 throw Thursday. Boucher was seventh at 93-9.

Riverdale had two additional boys regional qualifiers on the second day. Grant Inbody had a runner-up discus throw of 144-4. Andrew Woodruff was third in the 800 run in 2:03.28.

Nick Tackett, Kason Barnes, Kolten Evans and Luke Donaldson advanced in the 3200 relay on the first day, finishing fourth in 8:32.13. Jack Dusseau cleared 6-0 for fourth in the high jump.

Barnes placed fifth in the 3200 run in 11:04.28, while Gabe Donaldson was sixth in the 1600 run in 4:56.80 and Cale Young eighth in 4:59.78. Luke Donaldson was eighth in the 800 run in 2:08.25, with Noah Locke taking seventh in the 100 dash in 11.71.

Riverdale was fifth in the 800 relay in 1:34.89 and sixth in the 400 relay in 45.69.

Jackson Brown was Ada’s lone district champion, winning the boys 110 hurdles in 14.74. He was sixth in the 300 hurdles in 43.80 and seventh in the 200 dash in 24.55.

Hardin Northern’s Riley Newton was the boys 400 winner in 51.92. He also moved on to regionals in the 200 with a runner-up result in 23.20. He got sixth in the 100 finals in 11.31, missing out on qualifying for regionals in that event by 0.08.

Ridgemont’s Clayton Patterson will be long jumping at regionals after a second-place showing in the boys long jump at 20-9.75.

Ridgemont’s Kolton Manns (2:03.88) edged Ada’s Mason Selover (2:03.90) for the last regional qualifying spot in the boys 800. Manns was fourth and Selover fifth.

Ada junior Kennedy Jones advanced to regionals with a third-place shot put throw of 33-6.

The Bulldogs’ 4×100 relay team of Logan Jolliff, Brown, Trevor McGue and Gavin Oldfield made it to regionals with a runner-up time of 44.99.

Ada’s Mariah King was fifth in the girls high jump at 4-8 and eighth in the 100 hurdles in 17.86. Jolliff sprinted to fifth in the 100 dash in 11.26. Jordyn Smith took fifth in the 100 dash in 13.26.

The Division III regional meet begins at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Fostoria Memorial Stadium.
