Hope and Healing Mass set Posted on May 2, 2024 0 CAREY — On Saturday, May 4 at 11 a.m., all are invited to attend a Hope and Healing Mass at the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, 315 Clay St., Carey. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will be celebrated within Mass following the homily. After Mass, all present are invited to come forward to receive an individual blessing with the Relic of the True Cross. Additionally, in accordance no. 66 of The Enchiridion of Indulgences, the faithful, having fulfilled the usual conditions of sacramental confession, reception of Holy Communion, and prayers for the intention of the Holy Father, may receive a plenary indulgence by visiting one of the original three altars in the Upper Basilica and reciting an Our Father and the Creed. The original three altars were consecrated on May 4, 1930 by then-Bishop Samuel Stritch.
