4 area softball teams set to host a playoff game Posted on April 30, 2024 0 Four Kenton Times coverage area softball teams learned that they will be hosting tournament games as teams from around the state held their playoff draws Sunday afternoon. Kenton came in at No. 6 in the Division II Lima District and is set to host eighth-seeded Napoleon May 7 at 5 p.m. in a sectional semifinal. Third-seeded St. Marys will host the winner May 10 at 5 p.m. for a sectional title. Bryan grabbed the top seed and Liberty-Benton is seeded second in the district. Riverdale claimed the No. 6 seed and will play at No. 5 seed Arcadia May 6 at 5 p.m. in a sectional semifinal in the Division IV New Riegel district. The victor will travel to face fourth-seeded Carey on May 9 at 5 p.m. New Riegel is the top seed in the district. Ada earned the No. 2 seed in the Division IV Wapakoneta district and will host fourth-seeded St. Henry or seventh-seeded Waynesfield-Goshen May 9 at 5 p.m. Fifth-seeded Upper Scioto Valley and eighth-seeded Hardin Northern will square off again, this time in McGuffey May 6 at 5 p.m. in a Division IV Wapakoneta sectional semifinal. The Rams beat the Polar Bears 12-4 on April 23 in Dola. The winner will play at third-seeded New Bremen, who knocked USV out of the playoffs last season. Also in the same district, 12th-seeded Ridgemont is set to take on ninth-seeded Lima Central Catholic May 6 at 5 p.m. Sixth-seeded Marion Local awaits the winner of that one on May 9 at 5 p.m. In the Division II Southwest II district, Ben Logan was seeded third and will host either eighth-seeded Springfield Northwestern or ninth-seeded Urbana May 9 at 5 p.m. Â
