Plaugher medals at 40, Wildcats fall to Falcons

ARLINGTON — Riverdale picked up a boys golf victory by beating Hardin County rival Kenton 184-201 on Thursday at Sycamore Springs Golf Course.

Carter Koehler led the Falcons (4-1) with a 44, with Mason Guckes coming up big in the No. 6 spot in the lineup by shooting 45. Evan Reiter added a 47, and Nathan Alge finished with a 48.

Keegan McBride (53) and Bracey Carpenter (58) also played.

Kenton (1-6) had the medalist, Logan Plaugher, with a 40, and also got a solid 45 from Dawson Miller, but had inconsistent scores after that. The Wildcats had to count 58s from Ben Sams and Tommy Mustain.

Jack Whitmer and Parker Benson both shot 62s.

Cale Reigle actually topped all Riverdale players with a 42 while playing junior varsity.

Kenton hosts Ottawa-Glandorf on Monday at 4:30 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park Golf Course. 

Riverdale competes in the Blanchard Valley Conference Midseason tournament at 9 a.m. Monday at Hidden Creek Golf Course.

Riverdale (4-1): Koehler 44, Alge 48, Reiter 47, McBride 53, Carpenter 58, Guckes 45.

Kenton (1-6): Plaugher 40, Miller 45, Whitmer 62, Sams 58, Mustain 58, Benson 62.
