Anatomy field trip

Hardin Northern Anatomy students took a field trip to the University of Toledo Health Sciences Department to tour the Simulation Center, Anatomy Lab, and the Plastination Lab. In the Simulation Center, students were able to view patient care rooms with human patient simulators that allow situational scenarios for learning. In the Anatomy Lab, students were able to experience the lab with a cadaver. Their favorite part was being able to have a hands-on learning opportunity with real organs along with a visualof how muscles, nerves, tendons, and ligaments interact. The Plastination Lab may have been the overall favorite. The items in this lab are actual structures that have been preserved for students to study. Students also met up with HN alumni, Courtney Combs, director AHEC and Ohio Statewide AHEC Programs.
