Services for Floyd Arthur Rose will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bringman Clark Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky by Rev. Mary Curtis and Rev. Rex Roth.

Burial will be in the Tymochtee Cemetery, Marseilles Township with military services conducted by the Upper Sandusky Veterans Color Guard.

Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where a Masonic Memorial Service will be conducted at 7 p.m.

He died Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Lima Memorial Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Marseilles Presbyterian Church or Wyandot County Fair Board in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home, 226 E. Wyandot Ave., Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.

He was born on Dec. 13, 1925 to the late Merritt and Austa (Aam) Rose.

He married Bertha Mae Hartle on Aug. 12, 1951 and she preceded him in death on Dec. 8, 2009.

Surviving are a son, Chris (Nancy) Rose of Upper Sandusky; a daughter, Kathy (Flip) Smith of Arkansas; a daughter-in-law, Darlene Rose of Maryland; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a sister, Patricia (Rex) Redding of Kenton.

He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Rose and two sisters, Marjorie Wolford and Jo Ann Hensel.

He graduated from Marseilles High School with the class of 1943.

He was WWII veteran of U.S. Army.

Floyd was a lifelong grain and livestock farmer and was a member of Marseilles Presbyterian Church.

He was a Marseilles Township trustee for 15 years and a member of Wyandot County Fair Board for 21 years.

He was a member of Marseilles Masonic Lodge 515, and Warpole Lodge 176.

He held the record in the 440 yard dash in the Wyandot County Track Meet and placed fourth at the state meet.

Floyd enjoyed bowling in multiple leagues in Upper Sandusky and Kenton, cutting fire wood, mowing the lawn, woodworking, and he was an avid OSU fan.

He was proud of his Norwegian heritage.
