STEVE FLACK
Humane Society president wants cat shelter opened in the coming years
By CHRISTINA HOY
Times staff writer

Hopes are high at the Hardin County Humane Society.
Within the next year, said Steve Flack, who was re-elected organization president Monday evening at its annual banquet, he would like to see the cat shelter opened. The current plan is to use half the building on U.S. 68, south of Kenton, as a cat shelter leaving the rest to still be able to be used for bingo.
The Humane Society has collected nearly $49,608 from donations over the years which has been invested into a certificate of deposit. According to Treasurer Sue Fetzer, not a penny that was intended for the shelter has been spent on any bingo-related purpose or the renovation of the building.
