Growing up with a farming
background, one Hardin Northern graduate knew he
wanted to stay in some aspect of agriculture.
The opportunity to farm
wasn't available, said Mike Elwood, but
his father was a parttime farmer and his grandfather a full-time farmer, so
Elwood knew agriculture was in his blood.
Elwood also knew he
wanted to stay in Hardin County, so after graduating high school he went off
earn a two-year degree from the Ohio State University Agricultural Technical
Institute branch in Wooster, then came back to the county and soon found a job
with the Natural Resources Conservation Service assoil conservation technician.

eight-point first quarter lead,
the Ram defense came alive

ADA -
For the opening four minutes, Hardin Northern looked as if it might compete Saturday night at 10th-ranked Ada, but then reality set in.
Trailing 10-7, the Bulldog
boys upped the pressure,
went on a 13-0 run and never
looked back as they blew out
the Polar Bears 97-45 in a
lopsided Hardin County rivalry
bout.
Balance was key as six Bulldogs tallied between 12 and 17 points. Zac Dysert and Kyle Baker each scored 17 points to top the victors.
"Our kids are unselfish
and play well together," said
Ada coach Chris Sautter,
whose team improved to 15-
2.
