Harrod man sent to prison for crash that killed teen By DAN ROBINSON

A Harrod man was sent to prison for two years for his part in the death of a teenage girl.
According to court records, on Dec. 17, 2006, Thomas Ray Risner was driving his 1998 Dodge westbound on County Road 110 at a high rate of speed. When he ran the stop sign at Ohio 235, the vehicle was traveling at an estimated speed of 102 mph.
When the Risner vehicle struck the state route, it “launched the vehicle airborne.” When it landed on the other side of the highway, Risner lost control and rolled the car, causing passenger Chelsea Ratliff, 18, to be ejected.

Forest man charged By DAN ROBINSON

Bond was set at $20,000 Thursday afternoon in Hardin County Municipal Court for a Forest man charged with sexual battery.
John Kauble appeared before Judge Greg Grimslid for initial arraignment.
According to Hardin County Prosecutor Brad Bailey, Kauble was having sexual relations with his mentally-challenged 13-year-old daughter. Part of the bond agreement was that Kauble have no contact with anyone under the age of 18.
Bailey said the defendant lives in a home with two other families, who also have minor children. Kauble also has an 11-year-old son, said Bailey.

Rams pressure too much for Gophers By KENDRICK

RIDGEWAY - Upper Scioto Valley made its point quickly against Ridgemont on Thursday night.
The Lady Rams, sparked by their swarming defense, outscored the host Gophers 28-5 in the first quarter, including 17-0 in the game's first four minutes, on the way to a 82-34 victory in North West Central Conference action on Thursday.
The Rams improve to 15-0 with the win and clinch at least a share of the NWCC title with a 6-0 mark. USV can win the league outright when it hosts Marion Catholic next Friday.
Ada girls outshot by Columbus Grove COLUMBUS GROVE - Ada couldn't overtake Columbus Grove as the Bulldogs fell 60-49 Thursday night in girls basketball action.
Ada falls to 8-6 overall on the season.
Ada's Morgan Dumbaugh finished with a team-high 17 points while Kara Dysert added a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds along with four assists. Sam Fell added nine points.
The Bulldogs fell behind early but still had a chance after three quarters. Columbus Grove led 21-13 after the opening quarter and 40-36 at the end of the third. Ada could not get over the hump, however, as Columbus Grove outscored the visitors 20-13 in the fourth. (Refer to page 6 of today's Kenton Times.)
