Senior Scouts

Troop holds award ceremony
Girl Scout Troop 389 from Ada, recently held their awards ceremony. The girls bridged from Cadette to Senior Girl Scouts. All the girls received their Silver awards that night also. Amanda Fincher, Ellen Smittle, and Kimberly Schaper's projects involved making toys for animals in shelters. Lorna Spar created a DVD of photos for each of the participants in the Abilities baseball league. Taylor McInturf created cards for the soldiers and Abigail Savino made a quilt for the injured soldiers.
Three of the girls were honored for being members of the troop for 10 years. Lorna Spar, Abigail Savino and Amanda Fincher all joined Girl Scouts as Daisies while they were in kindergarten. They are now all in high school. Their leaders over the years included Sally Jeffrey, Deanna Downing, Kim Smittle, Amy Spar and Lee Savino.
The families of the girls were invited to the ceremony, which included refreshments of Girl Scout Cookies. After the ceremony, the girls held their annual Christmas sleep- over where they held an international food fest, and participated in karaoke, Dance Dance Revolution, and Guitar Hero and an auction.

Volunteer program to hold training session

The Equestrian Therapy Program is holding a volunteer orientation and training session on Saturday, Jan. 12 from 10 a.m. until noon at Fassett Farm, 22532 Bowsher Road, Cridersville, OH 45806.
