He was born on Sept. 27, 1938 in Jay, Florida to Ollie and Eddie Hicks.Surviving are his wife, Virginia; daughters, Terri Lewis (Andy Winter) of River Falls, Wis., Tammi Putnam (Bill) of Fort Worth, Texas, and Traci Galzerano (John Forand) of Brooksville, Fla.; a son, Todd Hicks of Granbury, Texas; grandchildren Tyler Hicks, Jalen Forand, McKenna and Grace Putnam.Ollie was the valedictorian from Jay High School when he graduated in 1956. He moved to Bucyrus, Ohio where he met and married Virginia Brown on April 18, 1959. Ollie was president of the Shiners in 1975. He was known for being a friend to all with a kind heart for everyone he met. He loved his family more than anything and took great care of his wife. Pa was loved beyond measure and will be missed every single day.
