He died at 10:53 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, at his home.

Services for Maxie (Patton) Preston will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger by the Rev. James Holbrook. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and until time of services Wednesday.
She died at 3:31 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima.
She was born May 13, 1928, in Hueysville, Ky., to Franklin and Bessie (Terry) Combs and both are deceased. On June 13, 1945, she married James Wheeler Patton and he died Feb. 3, 1967. She later married John Preston and he is deceased.
Surviving are three sons, Doug (Karen) Patton, Jerry (Peggy) Patton and Dorvil (Kaylene) Patton, all of Harrod; three daughters, Connie (Willis) Music of Harrod, Bonnie Patton and Tom Steed of Lima and Sharon (Leonard) Woods of Harrod; three brothers, Jesse (Maxine) Combs of Central City, Ky., Minis Combs of Zellwood, Fla., and Truman (Loretta) Combs of Hueysville, Ky.; two sisters, Janis Moore of Garrett Ky., and Joyce (Dave) (Handshoe) Hale of Fairborn; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Patton and two brothers, James Combs and Lewis Combs.
She retired from Rudolph Foods after 28 years.
She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to quilt and embroider. All her grandchildren have something she made.

Services for Robert Schwemer will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Schindewolf Stevens Stout Funeral Home in Kenton by the Rev. Scott Johnson. Burial will be in the Dunkirk Cemetery.
Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday.
He died Friday, Sept. 12, 2008,at 9:40 p.m., at Hardin Hills Health Center in Kenton.
He was born July 12, 1936, in Kenton to Carter W. and Helen (Woodruff) Schwemer. He never married.
Surviving are a brother, David J. (Betty) Schwemer of Kenton; two nephews, John A. (Chassie) Schwemer and Mark B. Schwemer, both of Kenton; three cousins William (Barbara) Schwemer of Virginia, Bret (Tawni) Schwemer of Washington, D.C., and Scott (Beth) Schwemer of Virginia.
He graduated from University High School in Columbus and for many years worked from his home doing charitable mailings.
He was injured in a car accident at the age of 17 and lived at home with his parents until his later years of life.
