He died at 9:40 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2008 at the Hardin Hills Health Center in Kenton.

Services for Philip W. Strahm will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Auburn, Indiana. Burial will be in the Auburn Mausoleum.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Auburn.
He died Friday, Sept. 12, 2008 at his home.
He was born Feb. 10, 1913 in Kenton to Chris and Florence (Stevenson) Strahm. On Feb. 27. 1940, he married Ruth Nagle and she preceded him in death in May, 2006.
Surviving are a son, Ronald Strahm of Auburn, a grandson, Philip Stram of Auburn; a granddaughter, Shannon Harger of Auburn; a great-granddaughter, Kyann Strahm and a sister, Dorothy Van Buskirk of Bellefontaine.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, where he served in the European Theatre. After his discharge, he returned to Auburn and became a partner with his brother-in-law, M.E. Haite in the National 5 & 10 Cent Stores, Inc. At one time, operating stores in Auburn, Butler, Syracuse and Bryan, Ohio. He retired from the variety store in 1976.
In 1983, he assurmed the duties of bailiff in the DeKalb Curcuit Court on a part-time basis until his retirement in 1996.
He was an active member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Auburn.
On Dec. 5, 1999, he was recognized for outstanding dedication as congregational treasurer for nearly 40 years.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 97 in Auburn, the DeKalb Lodge 214 Free and Accepted Masons, Mizpah Temple Shrine and Cedar Creek Shrine Club.
He was a former member of the Rotary International.
Memorials can be made to the church or the charity of the donor's choice.

Services for Charles A. Strait, Sr. will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Crates Funeral Home in Arlington. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery in Madison Township where a memorial tribute will be performed by the Hancock County Memorial Veteran's Squad.
Friends may call 2-5 p.m. Sunday.
He died Friday, Sept. 12, 2008 at his home.
He was born March 4, 1932 to Roy and Hester (Wentz) Strait. On Aug. 6, 1954, he married Rosemary Richmond and she preceded him in death on March 17, 2006. He then married Orma Treft and she survives.
Also surviving are a son Charles A. (Kay) Strait, Jr., of Lakeview, Ohio; four daughters, Roxanne (James) Beard, Mary Jayne (Alan) Steinman, Kathy (Tyler) Smith all of Arlington; Cheryl Atkin of Florida; two brothers, Donald of Florida, and Larry of Findlay; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren; three stepdaughters, Diane (Steve) Hart of Findlay; Deb (Jerry) Suman of Arcadia; Donna (Ron) Dorman of Findlay, three stepsons: Dan (Mary) Treft of Iowa; Daryl Treft of McComb and Dale (Wendy) Treft of Findlay. There are also 19 step-grandchildren and 12 step great-grandchildren that survive.
He was predeceased by three sisters, Mary, Ruth and Betty.
He was retired from the Findlay Fire Department, Arlington Schools Maintenance Department, and Hobbs Construction.
He was a member of the Pheasants Forever, The American Trap Shooting Association, and Treasurer/member of the Mt. Blanchard Gun Club.
