Services for Katie (May) Cottle will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Price Funeral Home in Kenton by Pastor Patrick Spradlin. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
She died at 10:28 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, at her home.
She was born Dec. 18, 1923, in Lick Fork, Ky., to Tom Marshall and Cora (Bays) (Marshall) (Sparks) Draper. On Oct. 15, 1940, she married Willie Dorval May and he preceded her in death on Sept. 18, 1956. On Nov. 17, 1964, she married Ben Cottle and he preceded her in death in June of 1969.
Surviving are three daughters, Joyce VanHoose of Kenton, Wanda (Michael) Megison of Westerville and Judy (John) Barker of Hampton, Va.; five grandchildren, Michael (Loretta) VanHoose, Mike (Shelly) Megison, Regina Soape, Patrick (Rick) Lamer and John Barker; eight great-grandchildren, Elisha (Ben) Kozman, Kristopher Soape, Haylee Megison, Carley Van Hoose, Kenny Newman, Ashley, Darrick and Jason Lamer; a great-great-granddaughter, Josie Newman; a brother, John Marshall of Okeechobee, Fla.; a half-brother, Fred Sparks of Port Orange, Fla., and a half-sister, Julie Marshall of McGuffey.
She was preceded in death by three daughters, Chlora Pearl May, Susie May and Patricia May; a sister, Rebecca Marshall; four half-brothers and four half-sisters.
She was a waitress and a homemaker.
She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Kentucky.
In the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, she was an avid bowler.
She was a melanoma and non Hodgkin’s lymphoma survivor. The wonderful love and light of our lives will be deeply missed.
Memorials may be made to Hardin County Hospice.
