Russell E. "Gene," 89
West Liberty

Services for Russell E. "Gene" Berry will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Kauffman-Eichholtz Funeral Home in West Liberty by Pastor Joe Berry. Burial will be at a later date in Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.
He died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, in the emergency room at Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefontaine.
He was born Jan. 6, 1919, in Madison County to Sam and Ola (Emrich) Berry. On March 26, 1955, he married Mary Rutherford in Huntsville and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, John S. (Elaine) Berry of Bellefontaine and David M. (Diana) Berry of Charlottesville, Va.; a daughter, Maryann Metzger of Ann Arbor, Mich.; a brother, William (JoAnn) Berry of Belle Center and six grandchildren, Gina (David) Tighe, Kevin Berry, Lauren Metzger, and Peter, Margaret and Joanna Berry.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Berry and Sam Berry Jr. and two sisters, Mary Storts and Flora Lou Berry.
He farmed all his life and operated a contract lineclearing tree service.
He was a charter member of the Lions Club in Woodstock. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge 209 in Bellefontaine and a member of the former Masonic Lodge in Belle Center. He was a 32nd Degree Mason for 50 years. He was a member of the Hardin County Farm Bureau.

Services for Pauline Ruth Crowe will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Price Funeral Home in Kenton by Richard White. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
She died at 7 a.m. Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, at Hardin Hills Health Center in Kenton.
She was born Dec. 29, 1915, in Hardin County to Howard and Serdula (Oates) Bowman. On Sept. 3, 1935, she married Russel Willis Crowe and he preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 1995.
Surviving are two sons, Rodney (Judy) Crowe of Dunkirk and R. Dale (Beverly) Crowe of Gallup, N.M.; seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Caroline Crowe of Kenton and Gladys Shanks of Hunstville.
She was preceded in death by three great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Hannah and Russel Michael; a brother, James Bowman and a sister, Margaret Sullivan.
She was a homemaker and a helped with the family farm.
She was a member of the Kenton Congregation of Jehovah Witness.
She was well known for her excellent pies and she loved having her grandchildren around her.
Memorials may be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice in Findlay.

Services for Rosemary Kin will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Clark Shields Funeral Home in Forest by Father Anthony Dinovo. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Kirby.
Friends may call 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
She died at 3:41 a.m. Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, in the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay.
She was born Aug. 23, 1927, in Ironton to Fred G. and Stella M. (Kelley) Sheets. She married John (Jack) Kin on April 27, 1957 and he survives.
Also surviving are five daughters, Jacki (Al) Blackburn of Southport, N.C., Vickie J. (Jim Brown) Johnson, Lori J. (Bill) Kelloge and June A. (Randy) Boose, all of Forest and Jane A. (Mike) McBride of Westerville; a son, James T. (Lisa) Hampton of Pinehurst, N.C.; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; four brothers, Glen (Mae) Sheets and Gary (Gladys) Sheets, both of Kenton, Freddy Sheets of Belle Center and Terry (Pat) Sheets of Forest and three sisters, Helen Miller and Thelma (Norman) Lafferty, both of Forest and Opal (John) Shoop of Van Wert.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, John Justin Kin Jr. and a son, Michael G. Hampton; a grandson, Michael J. Blackburn and a brother, Ed Sheets.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kenton and she had also attended St. Mary Catholic Church in Kirby.

Services for Edna M. Siemon will be 1 p.m. Friday at Price Funeral Home in Kenton by Rev. Scott Johnson. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery.

She died at 11:40 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Kenton.
She was born Oct. 2, 1916, in Columbus to William and Sadie (Townsend) McKean. She married Henry P. Siemon and he died in February of 1966.
Surviving are a son, John Siemon of Kenton; a granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn (Dr. Kevin) of Beaufort, N.C.; and a great-granddaughter, Charlotte Milena Bickley of Beaufort, N.C.
She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the St. John’s United Church of Christ in Kenton and was a founding member of the Hardin County Senior Citizen Club. She was also a member of the Hardin County Historical Museum and Merry Widow Club.
She was an avid reader and writer.

Services for Violet L. Smith will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Waynesfield United Methodist Church by the Rev. Kathleen Hayes. Burial will be in Willow Branch Cemetery.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Armentrout Funeral Home in Waynesfield and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
She died at 9:52 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, at Lima Memorial Health System.
She was born Sept. 9, 1915, in Wayne Township, Auglaize County to Riley A. and Della (Nell) Gullett. On July 31, 1931, she married Gerald Smith and he preceded her in death on Jan. 7, 1962.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Carl, Robert, Cyrus, Benjamin and Harry Gullett, and three sisters, Bertha Dobie, Zelma Wilcox and Esther Stepelton.
She was a member of the Waynesfield United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years.
She was a 1933 graduate of Waynesfield High School and was a past member of the Order of Eastern Star in Waynesfield. She worked for years at the Bowman Shaw Grocery Store in Waynesfield and also worked in the Loan Department at Metropolitan Bank in Lima.

Services for Judy O. Tabor will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home in Ada by Pastor Roger Emerson. Burial will be in Maysville Cemetery in Maysville.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today and until time of services Wednesday.
She died at 8:32 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, at Lima Memorial Health System.
She was born April 18, 1941, in Allen County to L. Warren and Mary E. (Carman) Landis. On Dec. 10, 1960, she married Larry M. Tabor and he survives in Ada.
Also surviving are two sons, Daniel (Crystal) Tabor of Bluffton and Dennis Tabor of Ada; four grandchildren, Dustin VanHorn, Chelsea VanHorn, Jordan Tabor and Cole Tabor and a great-granddaughter, Addyson VanHorn.
She was a cook at Phi Mu Delta Fraternity at Ohio Northern University in Ada for 29 years. She was a 1959 graduate of Alger High School and attended Northwestern Business College for a year.
She was a member of the Maysville United Methodist Church in Maysville and was a member of the United Methodist Women’s group at the church and played piano and organ for several years.
She was a member of the Ada Senior Citizens and was an avid bowler and formerly bowled on a league at the Ada Bowling Alley. She loved to garden and loved to sew and make crafts.
