A private family service for Lavada Mae Treen will be held at a later date with burial at Pine Tree Cemetery.
She died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008, at Memorial Healthcare Center. She went home to be with her husband Harold Treen, who she married June 16, 1953.
She was born Sept. 25, 1933, in Kenton to Edward and Mary (Corbin) Steele.
Surviving are two sons, Michael (Susan) Treen and Richard Treen, both of Corunna, Mich.; two brothers, Larry (Mae) Steele and Ted Steele, both of Kenton; a brother-in-law, Bill (Freda) Treen of Kenton; two grandchildren, April and Christopher Treen of Corunna, Mich.; several nieces and nephews and special family friends, Walt (Myrtle) Schuppler of Corunna, Mich., and Bill (Virginia) Winchester of Owosso, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sally Alderman; four brothers, Gene, Jerry, Edward and Benjamin Steele and three sisters, Joyce Lightern, Dorlene Eich and Barbara Zink.
She was a homemaker who loved her children and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed providing in-home care for the elderly. She also enjoyed bingo and trips to the casinos with friends.
She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shiawassee County Humane Society or a church of choice.
Funeral arrangements are being made by Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Funeral Services in association with Mowen Funeral Home of Owosso, Mich.
