Osborn
John Ray, 65
Durango, Colo.

John Ray Osborn died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, at his home after a lengthy battle with prostate cancer.
He was born Feb. 21, 1943, in Kenton to Harry and Betty (Smith) Osborn. On April. 23, 1967, he married Cheryl DeBolt and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, John Osborn Jr. and David Osborn; four grandchildren, Luke, Cameron, Ashleigh and Chase Osborn; two brothers, Richard and Thomas Osborn, both of Ohio and a mother-in-law, Marjorie DeBolt, also of Ohio.
He graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1961 and joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served until 1965 and was honorably discharged with the rank of corporal.
He graduated from Tiffin University with an associates degree in law enforcement.
He began his career as a patrolman for the Upper Sandusky Police Department. In 1979, he and his family moved to Littleton, Colo., when he was hired as a deputy sheriff with the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, serving as court deputy.
In 1981, he was hired by the Durango Police Department and served as a patrolman, traffic, detective and field training officer before retiring in 2002.
He continued to serve the citizens of Durango at the police department as warrants officer and in the property/evidence room.
He enjoyed hiking, cross country skiing, four-wheeling and hunting in the mountains of Colorado. He and his wife also traveled extensively and he had traveled to all 50 states. Their favorite trip was when they traveled to the Alaska Highway in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Polhamus

Services for M. Bruce Polhamus will be 1 p.m. Friday at Armentrout Funeral Home, Waynesfield by the Rev. Brian Colby. Military rites will follow the services.
Burial with full military honors will be held Sept. 3 at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of services Friday.
He died Aug. 17, 2008, at his home.
He was born Jan. 26, 1948, in Piqua to Marion O. and Patsy (Preston) Polhamus and they are deceased. He married Constance Harvey on Oct. 14, 1977, and they were married for 30 years.
Surviving are a son, Eric B. Polhamus of Columbus; two daughters, Joanne (Kreg) Rex of Harrod and Mary Beth (James) Poulimenos of Cincinnati; a brother, Craig Allen (Debbie) Polhamus of Huntsville; three sisters, Patty Lambert of Lakeview, Judy (John) Fletcher of Nelsonville and Peggy (Raymond) Johnston of Lewistown; and two grandchildren.
A 1968 graduate of Indian Lake High School, he had been employed by Youcum Realtors, Sears and Lima Ford Engine Plant. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he was awarded a Purple Heart.
He formerly attended Grace Baptist Church in Lima and was a member of Amvets Post 39, Indian Lake.
