Steeles celebrate 50th
James and Shirley Steele of Dunkirk are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
Steele and the former Shirley Tracy were united in marriage Aug. 3, 1958 in Lakeview.
Steele is the son of the late Clarence and Leah Steele. He is retired from the Findlay City Schools after 36 years as a physics instructor.
Mrs. Steele is the daughter of the late Hershel and Goldie Tracy. She retired from Ohio Northern University Law School.
They are the parents of four children: James M. (Connie) Steele of Van Wert; Judith (Thomas) Brown of Columbus; Karen (Eric) Coppock of Bowling Green and Lisa (Richard) Watkins of Williamsport. They also have three grandchildren: Matthew and Molly Steele and Anna Watkins.
A family dinner and trip to Myrtle Beach will be held in celebration.
Raders celebrate 55th
L. Dean and Juanita Rader are celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary.
Rader and the former Juanita Ensminger were united in marriage July 19, 1953 at the Mount Perry United Methodist Church by Rev. C.P. Cecil.
Rader is the son of the late George and Louise Rader. He is retired from the Kenton City Schools.
Mrs. Rader is the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Ensminger. She is retired from Imperial Cup.
They are the parents of three children: Weldon (Susan) Rader of Kenton, Deb (Ephriam) Herdsman of Delaware and Steve Rader of Delaware. They also have four grandchildren: Gail, Brittany and Tracey Steel of Delaware and Courtney (Shane) Stober of Kenton and one great-grandchild.
A cookout was held at the home of their son, Weldon, with children and families present.
Cochrans celebrate 60th
Curby and Edith Cochran, CR 240, Mount Victory, are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.
Cochran and the former Edith Parthemore were united in marriage on Aug. 8, 1948 at the Union Baptist Church in West Jackson.
Cochran is the son of the late Jay and Ethel (Head) Cochran. He is retired from Rockwell International and was in the Harry Davidson Motorcycle business.
Mrs. Cochran is the daughter of the late Archie and Mary (Metz) Parthemore. She is a housewife and was a partner in their motorcycle business.
They are the parents of two daughters: Penny (Michael) Wells of Mount Victory and Peggy (Phil) Hoghe of Fort Wayne, Ind. They also have three grandchildren: Cassie (Rob) Kilgore, Jay (Shawnna) Mentzer, Cary (Lauren) Hoghe. They also have three great-grandchildren.
An anniversary dinner will be held with the immediate family.
Nickleses celebrate 50th
Hillard and Halie Nickles of Harrod are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
Nickles and the former Halie Conley were united in marriage on Saturday, July 26, 1958 in Belle Center.
Nickles is the son of the late Hubert and Lucy Nickles and was employed by Rudolph Foods in Westminster for 42 years.
Mrs. Nickles is the daughter of the late Tandy and Mauldie Conley. She was employed by Rudolph Foods in Westminster for 36 years.
The couple are the parents of four children: Darrell Nickles of Belle Center; Denise Williams of Alger; Donna Putnam of Alger and Darlene Whitley of Harrod. They also have seven grandchildren: Danielle Putnam, Dailyn Putnam, Spencer Williams, Sydney Williams, Grant Whitley, Kristin Whitley and Blythe Nickles and two step-grandchildren: Kayla and Kyle Hanthorn.
An open house will be held Saturday, July 26 at 5 p.m. at the home of their son, Darrell in Belle Center.
Temples celebrate 25th
Jerry and Jane Temple of Kenton are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary.
Temple and the former Jane Barnes were united in marriage July 20, 1983 in Kenton.
Temple is the son of Nelson and Jo Temple of Kenton. He is an insurance adjuster for Motorists Insurance and a long-time local business owner.
Mrs. Temple is the daughter of Chuck Barnes of Creede, Colo. and El Barnes of Pratt, Kan. She is an RN at Bellefontaine OB/GYN.
They are the parents of four children: Elizabeth (Jason) Howe, Tracy (Ann) Temple, Travis (Alicia) Temple and Katie (Eric) Latimore. They also have seven grandchildren: Kinley, Kiyah, Matthew, Abigail, Landon, Ayva and Jayden.
A trip to Put-in-Bay and Cancun, Mexico is planned.
Bahrs celebrate 40th
Wayne and Maureen Bahr, 3337 Shady Drive, Murrysville, Pa. 15668 are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary.
Bahr and the former Maureen Riding were united in marriage July 19, 1968 in Reno, Nev.
Bahr is the son of the late Bill Bahr and the late Kathleen Richey. He is retired from Westinghouse.
Mrs. Bahr is the daughter of the late Peter and Alice Riding.
The couple are the parents of three daughters: Laura DeLeon of Lubbock, Texas, Kristen Banker of West- minster, Md. and Rebecca Bahr of New York City. They also have two grandchildren, Daniel DeLeon and Annelise Saylor.
A celebration will be held with family and friends.
Lohrbers celebrate 40th
Ross and Susan Lohrber are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. They were united in marriage on July 12, 1968 at the Presbyterian Church in Kenton by Rev. Darrel Sellers.
Grady Lohrber was the best man with Kathy (King) Rolla as the maid of honor.
The couple have two children: Kimberly (Chris) Hays of Greenville and Jeffery Lohrber of Milwaukee, Wis. They also have two grandchildren, Elise and Joel Hays.
Jameses celebrate 60th
Gene and Margaret James are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.
James and the former Margaret Shroyer were united in marriage July 11, 1948 at the St. Johns E&R Church by Rev. Herbert E. Pfister.
James is the son of the late Park and Helen James. He has a brother, Lauren (Mary Ann) and a sister, Sherry Edwards. He is retired from Occidental Chemical Corporation.
Mrs. James is the daughter of the late Dallas and Zella Shroyer. She has a sister, Lois Ann. A brother, Russell, is deceased. She is retired from the Ohio Cooperative Extension Service in Kenton.
The couple are the parents of four children: Randall (Annette) and Keith (Tamara) James, both of Columbus and Kerry (Jane) James and Vicki (Steve) Phillips, both of Kenton. They also have 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
They both enjoy traveling in their motorhome and have visited all 48 of the Continental United States. They have made their home in and around Kenton most of their lives.
A family celebration will be held at a later date.
